The Lakeland Rodeo Association is a non-profit organization that has been facilitating cowboys and rodeo committees for 27 years. We serve committees in north-central Alberta and Saskatchewan. Thank you to all of the committees, sponsors, communities, cowboys and cowgirls for making the association what it is today.

THE 2009 COMMITTEE/CONTRACTOR MEETING WILL

BE HELD

IN VIKING, ALBERTA ON JANUARY 17, 2009 @ THE

CALEDONIA INN @ 1:30 PM.

ON BEHALF OF THE LAKELAND RODEO OFFICE STAFF & BOARD OF DIRECTORS WE WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND A WARM HOLIDAY GREETING AND ALL THE BEST IN 2009!

Any Contestant or representative contacting any committee member or stock contractor to get moved from any performance or slack will fined and/or disqualified at the Lakeland Rodeo Association Board of Directors Discretion.  Trades done outside of Lakeland Rodeo Office will NOT be tolerated.

Contestants must wear proper cowboy attire, including long sleeved shirt with sleeves rolled down, boot and hat on the grounds during the one (1) hour prior to rodeo time and for one hour after the completion of a rodeo and during all paid and slack performances at rodeo where contestant is entered.
The LAKELAND BOARD OF DIRECTORS are strongly enforcing this rule and fines will be given to any contestant not abiding by this rule.

Contestants are asked to please be considerate while competing at any rodeo and are asked NOT to clean out horse trailers while at the rodeo grounds.  If your trailer or vehicle is surrounded by garbage when you leave please pick up everything and dispose of it in a garbage can.

 Notice to all Barrel Racers

Just a reminder: The first three barrel racers must take down the timer, ensure

that everything is put back into the case and case is returned to the rodeo office.

If the committee is not supplying some sort of racking system the top three girls

must also supply rakes and find rakers for each perf and slack. I will be contacting

every committee prior to the rodeo to request they supply a raking system.

The last three barrel racers must set up the timer and check markers with a judge,

markers must be checked at least one hour prior to rodeo start. If anyone has a

problem with the judges not cooperating please let me know so I can address

the problem with the LRA judging director.

It does not matter if you are a LRA member it is still your responsibility to perform

your duties, the only ones exempt are local entries, it is a good idea to ensure that

there is no turnouts etc in the top or bottom 3 as the duties move up or down

with turnouts etc. This is everyone’s last reminder before fines will be levied.
